Boys place 3rd at Knight Invite

The boys track team traveled to Northeastern on Friday night for the Knight Invite and had their best meet of the season! With a great team effort the boys were able to place in the top three and have many great performances. The 4x800 relay team of Bradin Daniels, Alec Spence, Conner Walser and Alvaro Lopez Delgado got things started for the Indians and came out of the gate placing second. Luis Nieto and Jayson Connor were next in the 110mh and both ran great races. Connor placed 3rd and Nieto running a new PR by nearly a second placed 11th. In the 100m Dash Colton Emrick and Wilson Mendez-Aguliar were up and Emrick placed 11th while battling a banged up knee and Mendez-Aguliar running just above his best time placed 17th. Alvaro Lopez Delgado lined up for the 1600 for the first time with Scott O'Connor and after falling back some was able to work his way up to a 16th place finish. O'Connor just missed his PR and was able to place 18th for the Indians. Alec Spence and Jackson Cowper took on a very competitive 400m Dash and Spence ran a season best and 4th place finish while Cowper ran a new PR and 5th place finish. Jayson Connor and Colton Emrick were up to do battle in the 300mh next both running them for the first time this season ran great races. Connor placed 4th for the Indians while Emrick placed 10th. The 800m race was a battle with Bradin Daniels and Conner Walser leading the way from start to finish. Walser placed first with a season best and Daniels finished 2nd right on Walsers hip to also run a season best time. The 200m Dash saw Colton Emrick running the first time this season and Jackson Cowper. Emrick had a great start and was able to battle to an 8th place finish while Cowper fell after his blocks slid and was able to race back up to a 14th place finish. The 4x4 relay team of Alec Spence, Bradin Daniels, Jackson Cowper and Conner Walser closed out the meet with a huge finish and new PR while placing 1st. In HJ it was Grant Elliott once again placing first for the Indians for the second meet in a row. Jayson Connor also was big for the Indians in high jump placing 3rd out of 14 jumpers. In Long Jump it was Jackson Cowper and Joseangel Perez-Contreras. Cowper was able to place 10th while Perez-Contreras jumped to a new PR and 17th place finish. In Discus it was Kolton Mills and Brayden Timmerman with both finishing in the top 10 of 18 throwers. Mills had a huge day placing 4th with a throw of 105'0 and beating his previous best by 14 feet. Timmerman placed 10th for the Indians after struggling to get things going. In Shot Put it was Michael Miller and Kolton Mills representing the Indians. Miller has been having a big year and it continued Friday as he threw to a 4th place finish while Mills placed 16th.
